Dorsal spines (total): 8-8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-10; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 9-9; Vertebrae: 25-25. This species is distinguished by the following set of characters: no opercular spine; no rib on the last abdominal vertebra; presence of lingual teeth; vomerine teeth patch on anterior part, not extending posteriorly along midline of palate; no mustache-like process; gill rakers 5-6 + 16-17 = 21-23; vertebrae 10 + 15; pored lateral-line scales 35-36 to end of hypural and 4-5 on caudal fin; D VII-I,10; A II, 9; pyloric caeca 6 (Ref. 86803). |
