This species differs from its Arabian congeners in having the following set of characters: acutely pointed snout tip; anus is immediately in front of anal-fin origin; dorsal fin with 3 unbranched and 7 branched rays; pored lateral line scales 34-35; circumpeduncular scale rows 14-16; gill rakers on lower limb of first gill arch 13-15; mental disc small, usually longer than wide (Ref. 80794). |
