Family:  Muraenidae (Moray eels), subfamily: Muraeninae
Max. size:  75 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 1 - 107 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Gulf of California to Colombia, including the Galapagos Islands. Reported from Chile (Ref. 9068).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in the intertidal zone up to 20 m in depth. Inhabits rocky, crevice-rich and reef habitats. Feeds mainly on fishes and crustaceans like crabs, lobsters and shrimps (Ref. 28023).
