Family:  Xenocyprididae (East Asian minnows)
Max. size:  15.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Mekong and Chao Phraya basins.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal soft rays: 27-31. Has 24-28 branched anal rays; a submarginal stripe only in the upper caudal-fin lobe (Ref. 27732).
Biology:  Occurs at the surface in medium-sized rivers. Diet is probably similar to O. anomalura including chironomids and small mollusks. Rarely seen at fish markets.
