Distribution: |
Eastern Indian Ocean: known only from Bangkok, Songkhla and Phuket, Thailand. Probably more widely distributed about the Malay Peninsula. |
Diagnosis: |
Body with 7 or 8 prominent dark stripes along the scale rows above the lateral line; 7 - 9 faint stripes below (may be lost after preservation). Five pectoral filaments, moderately long, 31-43% of SL with 5th longest. Large upper jaw (mean 17% of SL) (Ref. 39886). Lateral line squamation unbranched, extending to upper end of lower caudal fin lobe. Lower tip of 7th proximal pterygiophore of 1st dorsal fin directed backward (Ref. 40970). |
