Distinguished from Telmatochromis vittatus, T. bifrenatus and T. brichardi by the absence of dark longitudinal bands and a deeper body (body depth 24.8-32.8% of SL). Differs from T. dhonti by having a smaller head (head length 28.8-32.3% of SL); smaller mouth (upper jaw length 26.3-32.9% HL; lower jaw length 24.7-33.9% of HL); enlarged outer row oral dentition (enlarged flattened, straight tipped anterior oral teeth). |
