Geography and Climate |
Tokelau located Oceania, are group of three islands in the South Pacific Ocean, about one-half of the way from Hawaii to New Zealand. Each atoll has its own administrative center. Area comparatively about 17 times the size of The Mall in Washington, DC.
Climate is tropical; moderated by trade winds (April to November). Terrain consists of low-lying coral atolls enclosing large lagoons. Elevation extreme has the lowest point in Pacific Ocean 0 m and highest point in unnamed location 5 m. Natural hazard lies in Pacific typhoon belt.
