Etymology: Microsynodontis: Greek, mikros = small + Greek, synodon = with the teeth growing all together (Ref. 45335); nasutus: Species name from the Latin nasutus, meaning large nosed, in reference to the long snout of this species (Ref. 52369).

Body moderately slender; adipose fin moderately long, its base 28.2-32.0% SL; caudal peduncle slender, its depth 6.7-9.8% SL; eye diameter 13.8-17.4% SL; supracleithral process not reaching to vertical through posterior-most tip of nuchal shield; body without numerous dark brown elongate spots; dorsal spine curved; anterior edge of pectoral spine with antrorse serrations; both sexes with short (< 0.1 mm) tubercles on dorsal and lateral surfaces of head; caudal fin rounded (Ref. 81251).
Found in a whitewater river (Ref. 52369).
