Short description Identification keys | Morphology | Morphometrics

This species is distinguished from other species of the O. angorae group by the following characters, none of which are unique: differs from O. anatolicus and O. angorae by having the pre-dorsal back with blotches or a dark-brown, fine, mottled pattern, without saddles (vs. pre-dorsal back usually with 3-4 saddles), with a few isolated scales on the flank in front of the dorsal-fin origin (vs. flank completely covered by scales), caudal peduncle depth 1.5-1.9 times in its length (vs. 1.3-1.6 in O. anatolicus); this species with the flank usually with large, isolated, irregularly set and shaped blotches forming a marbled pattern (vs. flank with small and confluent, regularly set and shaped blotches and spots forming a marbled or mottled pattern in O. anatolicus while flank with a midlateral series of blotches usually fused to a stripe in O. angorae), and no depigmented stripe along the anterior part of the lateral line (vs. usually present in O. angorae) (Ref. 131061).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00741 (0.00453 - 0.01212), b=3.04 (2.91 - 3.17), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this species & Genus-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  2.7   ±0.3 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilience (Ref. 120179):  Medium, minimum population doubling time 1.4 - 4.4 years (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
