Size / Weight / Age
Maturity: Lm ?  range ? - ? cm
Max length : 4.0 cm SL male/unsexed; (Ref. 93039)
Dorsal spines (total): 2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6 - 7; Anal spines: 1; Anal soft rays: 5; Vertebrae: 28. Can be diagnosed from its congeners by having shorter pectoral-fin spine length (18.6-21.3 vs. 21.4-30.4% SL in remaining species). Additional characters useful for its identification include lower caudal peduncle (7.6-9.0 vs. 9.3-11.0 in Otothyropsis marapoama and 9.7-11.5% SL in Otothyropsis piribebuy), deeper caudal peduncle (7.6-9.0 vs. 6.2-7.6% SL in Otothyropsis polyodon); and dorsal-fin spinelet triangular in shape (vs. spinelet rectangular or quadrangular) (Ref. 93039).
Commensal with midge larvae (Chironomidae) which are attached to the gill opening or more rarely to the posterior process of the cleithrum (Ref. 93039).
