Etymology: Malacoctenus: Greek, malakos = soft + Greek, kteis, ktenos = comb (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: The ‘Zaca’ was a yacht owned by movie star Errol Flynn. In 1946 the yacht was taken on a scientific expedition along the Pacific coast of Mexico, during which the holotype was collected. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
