Nasal barbels longer than head; maxillary barbels reaching to caudal fin; 7-9+18-23 gill rakers on upper and lower arm of first arch (Ref. 12693).

Biology     Glossary (e.g. epibenthic)

Facultative air-breathing in the genus (Ref. 126274); Adults occur most commonly in the tidal zone and brackish water reaches of large rivers (Ref. 12693). In the Mekong basin, it is found in fresh water well upstream in the Tonlé Sap, Cambodia. Feed mainly on insects and crustaceans (Ref. 12693). Oviparous, distinct pairing possibly like other members of the same family (Ref. 205).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00832 (0.00384 - 0.01800), b=2.95 (2.77 - 3.13), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.4   ±0.45 se; based on food items.
Resilience (Ref. 120179):  Medium, minimum population doubling time 1.4 - 4.4 years (Assuming Fec < 10,000).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
