Biology     Glossary (e.g. epibenthic)

Little is known about the ecology for this species, however, juveniles seem to mimic and usually swim together with schools of Thalassoma noronhanum which they resemble in color. Specimens were observed over high rugosity rocky bottoms with calcareous algae at depths (Ref. 83981).

Estimates based on models

Preferred temperature (Ref. 123201): 25.8 - 27.6, mean 27.4 °C (based on 113 cells).
Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00977 (0.00574 - 0.01664), b=3.09 (2.94 - 3.24), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this species & Genus-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.6   ±0.5 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilience (Ref. 120179):  Medium, minimum population doubling time 1.4 - 4.4 years (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
