This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following characters: D VI,8; pelvic-fin rays mostly 7, pectoral-fin rays 21–23. Colouration: body brown, peritoneum with gray pigmentation, and circular or irregular light pattern on the dark floor of the mouth (Ref. 131498).
