Blind side with only a medial lateral line. Caudal fin usually with 12 rays (Ref 9895).
A coastal and estuarine species, ascending some large rivers, including the Mekong (Ref. 12693). Lives in silty sand or muddy substrates in sheltered coastal waters (Ref. 48637). Found on the bottom, where it feeds on benthic invertebrates. Not seen in markets (Ref. 12693).
