Etymology: Chrysichthys: Greek, chrysos = golden + Greek, ichthys = fish (Ref. 45335).
Environment: milieu / climate zone / depth range / distribution range
Ecology
Freshwater; demersal. Tropical
Africa: middle and upper reaches of the Cess, Sanguin (Liberia) and Cavally rivers (Côte d'Ivoire)(Ref. 57126).
Size / Weight / Age
Maturity: Lm ?  range ? - ? cm
Max length : 15.0 cm SL male/unsexed; (Ref. 57126)
Dorsal spines (total): 2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6; Anal spines: 0. Diagnosis: first or second branched ray of dorsal fin longest but always shorter than head (comprised from 3.5 to 4.5 times in standard length), never filamentous; base of adipose fin shorter than, or equal to, dorsal fin base; 9-13 (often 10-11) gill rakers on lower limb of first gill arch; pectoral fins with 8 (sometimes 9) branched rays; like most other species of the genus, C. teugelsi shows a sexual dimorphism between mature males and immature specimens (Ref. 57126).
