Etymology: Parambassis: Greek, para = near + Greek, ambassis, anabasis = climbing up (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: Ernest Vollmer, Jr. (1924–1992) of San Luis Obispo, California, USA, was honoured for his “…interest in ichthyological exploration.” He appears to have been a mine owner. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
