Dorsale stekels (totaal) : 4; Dorsale zachte stralen (totaal) : 8; Anale stekels: 0; Anale zachte stralen: 7; Wervels: 21. Adult females have a higher first dorsal fin than the adult males, and the first dorsal spine is more filamentous than that of the male (Ref. 33412). The third membrane of first dorsal fin with a large dark mark; posterior tip of preopercular spine straight and not curved upward; lower half of caudal fin rays elongate and filamentous in male (Ref. 37208).
