Dorsale zachte stralen (totaal) : 8; Anale zachte stralen: 7 - 9. Diagnosis: Distinguished from other cyprinids except Notropis buccatus by having a modified infraorbital and preoperculomandibular canals. It differs from N. buccatus by possessing longer gill rakers (length to width average 2.2, 4.8-2.5 vs. 1.0, 0.8-1.4), absence of breast squamation (vs. with scales), and possessing 5 infraorbital ossicles (vs. 4) (Ref. 57709).

Estimates based on models

Fylogenetische diversiteitsindex (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 1.0000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00871 (0.00395 - 0.01919), b=3.06 (2.88 - 3.24), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trofisch niveau (Ref. 69278):  3.0   ±0.3 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Weerstandsvermogen (Ref. 120179):  Hoog, minimale populatieverdubbelingstijd minder dan 15 maanden (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
