背鰭 (合計) : 10; 臀鰭: 8. Distinguished from all congeners by having the following combination of characters: cephalic lateral line system consisting of prominent pores, lateral line incomplete with 27-38 pores, body with 20-23 thin olivaceous dark bars against yellowish cream background; dorsal fin with 3 simple and 7 1/2 branched rays and two rows of black spots; 9 + 8 branched rays in slightly emarginate caudal fin and an elongated suborbital flap extending from front of anterior tubular nostril to anterior one-third of eye in males (Ref. 93020).
