Short description
Claves de identificación | Morfología | Morfometría
This species can be distinguished from congeners by the following set of characters: presence of prominent dark blotches pigmentation of distinct shapes irregularly arranged along lateral and dorsal surfaces of the body and scattered throughout all fins; by having small plates in lateral portions of the abdomen and adjacent areas between pelvic fins without development of dermal plates; and by morphometric ratios (Ref. 128922).
Found in shallow, clear and swift-flowing water, 50-100 cm deep composed of rocks, sand and macrophytes substrates. This species is relatively abundant at the sampled locality (Ref. 128922).
